Reiserute
The Musandam Peninsula is known as the 'Norway of Arabia' with 'fjords' and dramatic pink-skinned cliffs dropping vertically into the sea. Given the choice of the now overcrowded northern Red Sea or the Musandam peninsula, while the Red Sea definitely offers more variety and colourful reefs, this is a totally overlooked corner of effectively private diving nirvana;
What really sets this diving apart from the Red Sea is that no one else is in the water within miles - you are out here alone and again that just adds so much to the experience.The marine life here is incredibly diverse and each dive brings something different from excellent macro (small stuff) right up to regular whale shark sightings. also with guaranteed sunshine Instead you dive mostly under the towering cliffs that plunge almost vertically into the depths. There are no barrier reefs here. Some of the diving can be a bit more technical, thanks to strong currents, but this is still an ideal place for beginners and experts alike.

Plankton rich waters attract over 900 species of fish, ranging from cleaner wrasse through to whale sharks. The marine life is very noticeable and leaves a lasting impression. Walls and extensive coral gardens are the character of the dive sites. The combination of plankton and strong local currents attract a great range of pelagic species, manta, eagle rays, dolphins, along with whale sharks. Mola Mola, sharks and as well as most species of turtle can be encountered. The caves looks like the ocean has eroded a series of chambers and tunnels into the surrounding limestone rock, which provide hiding spots for spiny lobster, cleaner shrimp and other creatures. The sandy bottom of the caves is the perfect daytime resting place for rays and sharks. Coral walls to depths of 20m/66ft along with caves and crevices created by erosion of the limestone substrate. Schools of jack and tuna prowl the open waters adjacent to the rock. The trade off for the high concentrations of larger marine life is underwater visibility, which lies in a range from 40 – 100ft/ 12 - 30m.
When you're on an Aggressor Fleet Oman scuba diving liveaboard trip, you'll discover that the sea is full of fascinating life - whale sharks, humpback whales, sperm whales dolphins, manta rays, sharks, sea turtles, mobula, mola mola, moray eels, angelfish, stingrays, king mackerel, tuna, lobster, crayfish, and nudibranchs. More than 1000 different types of fish and shellfish call the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman home. Strict fishing conditions and large marine parks ensure that this valuable treasure is protected.
